One does not simply walk into Mordor - so we climbed there

Blogger ei jostain syystä toiminut eilen, joten eilisen postaus sen takia vasta nyt täällä. Saavuimme Tongariron kansallispuiston kylään lauantaina iltapäivällä. Paikka on aika lailla keskellä ei mitään, mutta maisemat ova kauniita.

For some reason Blogger didn't work yesterday so yeah that's why I didn't write earlier. We arrived to Tongariro National Park Saturday afternoon. The place is kinda in the middle of nowhere but the scenery is beautiful.

Eilen saimme nukkua pidempään ja syödä aamupalaa kaikessa rauhassa. Taru Sormusten Herrasta kuvauspaikkakierros alkoi yhdeksältä. Oppaan nimi oli Sam joten me taisimme olla Frodo ja Klonkku :D Kierroksella ei ollut muita, liikuimme maasturilla paikasta toiseen ja teimme lyhyitä kävelyretkiä. Ensimmäiset kuvauspaikat olivat "Hidden pool" ja paikka, jossa Klonkku nappaa joessa/purossa räpiköidessään kalan ja Sam ja Frodo juttelevat. Matkan varrella näimme myös Hobitti nimisen motellin hiihtokylässä sekä Hobitin kuvauspaikan: kääpiöiden saapuminen Ereborille Järvikylästä.

Yesterday we got to sleep longer and eat breakfast in peace. The Lord of the Rings filming locations tour started at 9 am. Our guide's name was Sam so we must have been Frodo and Gollum :D There was no others with us in the tour, we drove around with a 4WD and took short walk routes. The first filming locations we visited were "Hidden pool" and the place where Gollum catches a fish while crawling in a river/steam and Sam and Frodo talk. Along the way we also saw a motel in a ski village named Hobbit and filming location of the Hobbit: a scenery where Hobbits arrive to Erebor from Laketown.

Seuraavaksi matka jatkui kohti Mordoria. Ajoimme toiseen hiihtokylään ja kävelimme - tai pikemminkin kiipesimme Mordorin kuvauspaikoille. Paikka tosiaan oli aivan kuin Mordor, jokaisen kiven taakse pystyi helposti kuvitella örkin kurkistelemaan ja irvistelemään.

Then we continued our tour into Mordor. We drove to another ski village and walked - or more like climbed to the filming locations of Mordor. The whole place was really like Mordor, it was easy to imagine an orc peek and grin behind a rock.

Viimeisenä kävimme vielä vaihtoehtoisella "Hidden pool" kuvauspaikaikalla. Siellä kuvattuja kohtauksia ei päätynyt elokuvaan, mutta paikka oli todella kaunis.

Last place of the day was an additional filming location for "Hidden pool". None of the shots filmed there were chosen to the actual movie but it was beautiful and peaceful place.

Kierroksen jälkeen kävimne ruokaostoksilla, kiertelimme kylällä ja saimme uuden ystävän: super suloisen koiran, joka käveli kanssamme ison osan matkaa. Illalla laitoimme ruokaa ja juttelimme hostellin muiden asukkaiden kanssa.

After the tour we went to buy some groceries, walked around the village and got a new friend! A dog accompanied our walk for quite a while and she was super cute. In the evening we cooked dinner and talked with other people in the hostel.

Tänään matka jatkuu kohti Wellingtonia. 5 tuntia bussissa ei kuulosta kovin houkuttelevalta, mutta eiköhän siitäkin selvitä :D

Today our journey continues to Wellington. 5 hours in a bus doesn't sound very tempting but no can do :D
